I grew up in Manhattan, and my first language was English with my parents adding the languages they grew up with to add flavor (Spanish and Yiddish).

What from your hometown do you wish you could find in New York City?

New York City is my hometown! There are so many stores and restaurants that are closed now that I remember from childhood that I miss- an example is Grey's Papaya Dog in Greenwich Village, which had the best hotdog and papaya shake.

Where did you go to college?

I went to NYU for my B.A., Hunter College for my M.A. in Dance Education, Wilson College M.F.A. in Choreography, and CUNY City College for my degree in leadership!

What was your favorite book in middle school?

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.

What is the best part of teaching at Hamilton Grange?

I live in Washington Heights and am raising my daughter in this neighborhood! I am so excited to build community and dance with students in my own neighborhood!

I love to go swimming with my daughter or take her to music and dance classes.

What is your favorite quote?

"There comes a time when every human being must protest in order to retain dignity"- Katherine Dunham
