Where did you grow up and what was your first language?

I grew up in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

What from your hometown do you wish you could find in New York City?

Though I grew up in NYC, the city has changed a lot and I miss the close knit community that existed when I was growing up.

Where did you go to college?

I attended SUNY Old Westbury and City College for Undergrad and received my Master's from CUNY Graduate Center.

What was your favorite book in middle school?

My favorite book in middle school was Alice Walker's The Color Purple. I've had to read it several more times to understand it better as I got older.

 

What is the best part of teaching at Hamilton Grange?

The best part of being a member of the Hamilton Grange community is learning with the students, they teach me new things everyday.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not teaching?

When not at work, I enjoy traveling to new places and learning about different cultures.
