Where did you grow up and what was your first language?

I grew up in Miami, Florida, and my first language was Spanish. 

What from your hometown do you wish you could find in New York City?

New York has it all, but I wish there were palm trees!

Where did you go to college?

I went to college at the Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore. 

What was your favorite book in middle school?

My favorite book in middle school was The Giver by Lois Lowry. 

 

What is the best part of teaching at Hamilton Grange?

The best part about teaching at Hamilton Grange is getting to create things with such fun, smart, and imaginative students. 

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not teaching?

My favorite thing to do when I am not teaching is creating and viewing works of art, preferably with friends!

What is your favorite quote?

My favorite quote is “Art makes people powerful,” text in a piece by Bob and Roberta Smith.
